Dyes

We recommend high concentration liquid dye that are formulated for soy and we carry nine different colors. Any of the nine colors can be intermixed to obtain your color of choice. You definitely need some of these to make your candles brilliant.

Our dyes meet all requirements of California Proposition 65.

Available Colors:

Black, Blue, Brown, Burgundy, Green, Magenta, Orange, Red and Yellow

If you want to get by with a bare minimum, you'll need the 3 primary colors: red, yellow, and blue. Brown is about the hardest color to mix, so you will save yourself much grief to purchase it already made. Black is great to help make your colors darker and deeper. 15 drops of dye is the maximum amount that you can use per pound---anything more than that will clog your wick.

 

To check your colors, start with a drop of dye, put a drop on a piece of white paper or a white paper plate. Let cool. Keep adding dye a drop or two at a time. Keep good notes and you won't have to keep repeating your experiment.
